Team in the sidebar is the hub for a team-type workspace. It answers the three questions a team actually asks: who is here, what are we working on, and what happened since I last looked.
What it shows
The member list with roles, live presence (who is in the app right now), the workspace's shared boards, and the recent activity across them. It reads from the same live data as everything else, so a card moved on another machine shows up without a refresh.
Who gets it
The hub is for team-type workspaces on the Team plan. The page is honest about both conditions rather than half-working:
- In a personal or family workspace it tells you the hub belongs to team workspaces and points at workspace settings to change the type.
- In a team-type workspace without the plan, you get one clear upgrade prompt, not a shell of buttons that fail.
Seats
Team is priced per seat, and seats are enforced against what was actually purchased: when the workspace is at its seat count, the next invite is refused with a plain explanation instead of quietly overrunning the subscription. Seat count and usage are visible to workspace admins.
Roles, briefly
Owner and admin manage members, billing and workspace settings; members work. Board-level roles (owner / editor / viewer) still apply on top, per board, as described in Sharing and permissions.
What a household should use instead
A family workspace, not a team one. The family suite (chores, allowances, the House Cup) is a different toolset for a different kind of together, and it is covered in Family workspaces.
