The tiers, briefly
Free gives you 5 boards, 100 notes, 3 habits, and 40 AI actions a month. Not a trial that expires. Every module is present; the ceilings are on volume rather than on features, so you can find out whether the shape fits before paying for it.
Pro uncaps the core modules and adds a much larger AI allowance, external agent access, and the integrations.
Family is everything in Pro for a household, plus the family suite, per-item sharing, and a pooled AI allowance across the members.
Team is priced per seat, for a workspace that is a group of colleagues rather than a household.
The trial
New accounts get 7 days of full Pro, no card. One trial per account, ever.
While it is active, it lifts every workspace you own rather than only the one you started it in. When it ends you land on free. Nothing is deleted; the ceilings simply come back.
What happens at a limit
The write is refused and you are told which limit you hit. Nothing is silently dropped and nothing already created is taken away. If you are on free with 5 boards and a 6th would be useful, you either delete one or upgrade; the existing 5 keep working forever either way.
Archiving does not free a slot. An archived board is still a board.
AI actions are the one limit that resets, monthly, on your billing date. When the allowance is gone the assistant stops rather than quietly getting worse.
What is never limited
Your data is never held hostage by a plan. Export works on every tier, including free, including after a trial has ended. See Your data.
Offline works on every tier. So does the Mind, so do all eight themes, and so does every module. Free means fewer of things, not fewer kinds of things.
