Muslim features
One switch in Settings for prayer times on Today, prayers in routines, the wall's prayer widget and the Hijri date. Off until you turn it on, and nothing Muslim shows anywhere while it is off.

The Margin has a few features made for Muslim households: the day's prayer times, routines that follow them, a prayer widget for the wall and the Hijri date. They all sit behind one switch, Muslim features, which is off until you turn it on. While it is off, none of them shows anywhere: not on Today, not in Routines, not on the wall, and not their settings.
Turning it on#
Settings→Profile→Muslim features on the web (a phone
browser uses the same page), or Settings→Profile in the phone app, at the bottom of the first group. The switch belongs to your account, so turning it on on your phone turns it on on your laptop too, and on a wall display signed in as you.
Turning it on shows nothing new by itself. Each feature keeps its own toggle where it already lived, and a feature shows only when this switch and its own toggle are both on. Under the switch, Settings lists every one of them, what it does, and where its toggle is.
What it covers#
- Prayers in routines. Steps that sit at the day's prayer times, and a Prayers starter when you make a routine. Its toggle is the household's Prayer times switch at the bottom of Routines, also shown right in Settings as Prayers for this household. That switch is shared by everyone in the workspace; this one is yours. See Prayer times in routines.
- Prayer times on Today. The day's five times on Today, the calendar and the timetable. They follow the household switch above.
- Prayer times on the wall. A widget with the next prayer and a countdown, added and removed in the wall editor's widget drawer. The drawer offers it only with Muslim features on. See the prayer times widget.
- The Hijri date. Shown beside the date on the wall's prayer widget, and nowhere else.
- How the times are worked out. Calculation method, Asr time, the far-north rule, minute adjustments and reminders, in the prayer widget's settings on the wall. The times use the wall's town.
- Prayer times from Margin Intelligence. Ask "when is Asr?" and the assistant answers with the same times the wall shows. It needs only this switch; with it off, the assistant says so and points you here. Other assistants connected through MCP follow the same rule.
The wall follows whoever it is signed in as#
A wall display shows prayer times when the account it is signed in as has Muslim features on. If someone else in the household turns theirs off, the wall does not change. A prayer widget already placed on a wall stays in its layout while the switch is off and comes back when it is turned on again.
Letters and timetables#
When Margin reads a school letter or a timetable and a line is a prayer, the step follows that prayer's time only with Muslim features on. With it off, the step keeps the time written on the page.
Halal in food rules#
On the phone app, Halal is one of the one-tap suggestions in a household's food rules while Muslim features is on. With it off you can still type it, like any other rule.
